What Kind Of World Do We Want To Live In

09/16

The time has come that we have to decide what kind of an America we want. Do we want an America in which individuals are proud of themselves…responsible for their own lives…confident they can handle their own problems ….with an occasional helping hand? OR do we want a non-realistic country in which everyone is responsible for every one else?

Do we want a society in which government takes half of our income from us and then doles it back to us as though we were helpless children on an allowance?

I have Harry Browne, Libertarian candidate for President several years ago, to thank for some of these thoughts. The problem is…I agree with a lot the Libertarian Harry Browne has said.

It is about time to identify some of the real problems this country is now having. Illegal aliens became a problem only after government bodies, national and state, began offering illegal aliens free schooling, free welfare, free privileges of all kinds.

Washington lobbyists became a problem…taking away our citizen’s power only when government became big enough to provide attractive rewards for effective lobbying.

Family values declined about the time our government grabbed responsibility for everything…leaving many individuals no reason to exercise self-responsibility.

I want to live in a country where people are independent, proud of themselves, and responsible for their own lives. But our government insists in breeding a nation of welfare dependents, victims, litigants, thumb suckers, and buck-passers. I could go on and on. But you are probably getting my point.
