It's Amazing What Cooperation Can Accomplish
04/01
The log jam has finally been broken ! Frankfort’s 50 year plus nightmare is going to finally be fixed!
Clinton County and Frankfort City are now cooperating to cure a Frankfort blight that has been a disgrace to our Frankfort City for at least the 50 years that Kaspar Broadcasting has owned this community’s prime news media. The second project is Phase 1, State Road 28 west and the Jefferson water and sewer project. It is abundantly clear that these two projects are irrevocably linked between Frankfort City and Clinton County and our leadership clearly recognized that.
Kaspar Broadcasting now sees Clinton County/Frankfort city cooperation that has not been seen during the time of 10 previous Mayors and countless Clinton County Council members.
Kaspar Broadcasting salutes our County and Frankfort City leadership that resulted in the April first letter of agreement written by Steve Woods, president of the Clinton County Council and confirmed and agreed to by Frankfort Mayor Chris Pippenger.
The signed letter of agreement affirms that the county and the city will join forces and proceed on two important city/county projects. The Eastside Drainage project will be executed first. The preliminary engineering is done, and design and land acquisition can be accomplished in a time frame that will allow it to be in construction before the utility project to Phase 1, SR28 and Jefferson occurs. The sources of the funds have been identified and detailed in the County/City agreement letter co-signed Wednesday April first.
The Phase 1, State Road 28 and Jefferson water and sewer project, not to exceed west of county road 450, will carry a pledge of 60% for the County and 40% by Frankfort City being expressed as a flat amount subject to periodic review and full pledges of EDIT for the first 18 months to the Eastside Drainage project. This does not constitute all of the EDIT monies.
Kaspar Broadcasting is happy to say that an important project that has been on our agenda since 1960 now can be moved from Kaspar Broadcasting’s in-box to our out-box.
A big salute goes to Frankfort Mayor Chris Pippinger…his board of works, the president of the Clinton Council, Steve Woods and his members as well as the Clinton County Commissioners who all ….have worked so hard to do what needed to be done to make Frankfort and Clinton County a better place. Through cooperation they have accomplished a very significant betterment of our community.
What we see happening through teamwork and cooperation sends us all a strong signal that it is amazing what we can accomplish if good will and cooperation rules the day.
